Draper Joins Intel Foundry Services (IFS) Accelerator USMAG Alliance for Development of Secure Microelectronics for U.S. DoD
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Draper today announced that it has joined the Intel Foundry Services (IFS) U.S. Military, Aerospace and Government (USMAG) Alliance to support mutual customers with the domestic development and delivery of trusted solutions for national security applications. By participating in the alliance, Draper is advancing the adoption of IFS’ leading-edge processes to provide trusted design in conjunction with Draper’s security IP and precision instrumentation, ensuring that military, aerospace and government customers meet stringent national security requirements.
As an IFS Accelerator USMAG Alliance member, Draper benefits from access to process roadmaps, leading edge process design kits and technical training. In addition, the Draper and IFS teams can create tailored solutions that address mission needs and design goals. As a result, government customers can minimize design risks and access trusted designs across a wide range of applications, including high-performance and fault-tolerant computing, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, hostile environment operations and aerospace and defense systems.
“Revitalizing the defense microelectronics ecosystem is critical to our nation’s economic and national security,” said Draper President and CEO Dr. Jerry Wohletz. “As a Department of Defense Trusted Supplier, we will deliver trusted services to the alliance and IP and design solutions for aerospace, defense and government applications. We look forward to working with IFS to ensure tomorrow’s systems are as secure as possible.”
As IFS continues to advance its process and packaging technologies, mutual customers can achieve optimal results with Draper’s trusted and assured microelectronics technologies. In addition, Draper’s IP and design portfolio on IFS processes minimizes integration risks while helping chip designers address security in highly complex systems architectures. The portfolio encompasses logic, analog and mixed-signal devices; precision instrumentation; and mission-critical and high survivability applications.
“We are proud to partner with IFS as part of its IFS Accelerator USMAG Alliance,” said Sarah Leeper, Vice President and General Manager of Electronic Systems at Draper. “The combination of Draper’s IP and IFS’ leading technology helps ensure that customers looking to implement high-performance, secure and trusted microelectronics have the tools and resources to accelerate their success.”
“We are pleased to welcome Draper to the IFS Accelerator USMAG Alliance,” said Suk Lee, Vice President of Design Ecosystem Technology at IFS. “Their expertise and capabilities in the design, development and deployment of advanced systems for national security will be a valuable addition to the Alliance as we work together to advance customer innovation on our foundry manufacturing platform.”
As a nonprofit engineering innovation company, Draper provides engineering solutions directly to government, industry and academia; works on teams as prime contractor or subcontractor; participates as a collaborator in consortia; and provides unbiased assessments of technology or systems designed or recommended by other organizations—custom designed, as well as commercial-off-the-shelf.
