Draper’s Kevin Burns receives 2024 Boston CISO ORBIE Award
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Draper’s Chief Information Security Officer, Kevin Burns, has been named a recipient of the 2024 BostonCISO ORBIE® Award in the Large Corporate category.
The Boston CISO ORBIE Awards honor chief information security officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership, including their leadership and management effectiveness, the business value created by enterprise security, and engagement in industry and community endeavors. Winners are selected by an independent peer review process.
For over 20 years, the ORBIE Awards have recognized technology executives for leadership, innovation and excellence in this rapidly growing, national professional association. The BostonCISO ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in New England.
“The ORBIE Awards are especially meaningful as they are judged by peers—CISOs who understand the challenges to navigating and managing the cybersecurity landscape daily and why great leadership is essential. Kevin Burns deserves this highly distinguished CISO award given his impact at Draper and our national security mission over the last eight years,” said Jennifer Doherty, Vice President, Chief Security Officer and Chief Information Officer at Draper®.
“Receiving this award is the culmination of Draper’s emphasis and commitment to cybersecurity,” Burns said. “That commitment starts with our CEO, Dr. Jerry M. Wohletz, in collaboration with Draper’s senior leaders, and extends under the leadership of Jen Doherty to our teams in cybersecurity, compliance and information assurance. Cyber safety is an all-company commitment, and this award is in fact for all of us at Draper.”
Burns joined Draper in 2016 and has global responsibility for the company’s information security operations needs across Draper’s 12 campuses. His work in enterprise-level environments including large scale enterprise deployments, procurement and advanced security controls and solutions reaches across the company’s 2,200 employees, hundreds of customers, and thousands of end users.
